Public service · Lagos State House of Assembly
Surulere Constituency I.
Three mandates, 2015 to 2027.
He came to the Assembly from a film set, promising to give back to the neighbourhood that had cheered him on screen. Twelve years later the record is measured in transformers and surgeries, health cover and classrooms, and in a constituency that voted for him three times. This page sets it out with dates and numbers, including the items still being confirmed.

Oversight of the state's agencies, a scrutiny role that took him into the working of government beyond his own constituency.

On free expression
In June 2021 he publicly opposed the federal government’s suspension of Twitter, calling it a violation of Nigerians’ fundamental rights.
Eight months earlier, after touring businesses looted during the #EndSARS unrest, he had spoken in anger on the floor of the House about young people and social media. He apologised publicly within days, saying he had let his emotions get the better of him, and has repeated that apology since. An independent fact-check later found that the widely shared claim that he called for social-media regulation was misleading.
2027 and beyond
His third term is his last in the Assembly. He did not secure the party ticket for 2027 and completes his mandate in 2027.
The DOE programmes for widows and elderly residents continue, and he has returned to directing. For the constituency office and casework, see the contact page.
